#WOMENINCULTURE FEATURE: HONOR FROST

In honor of #MuseumWeek and Women In Culture (#womeninculture), I will be highlighting some of my favorite female archaeologists! ⚒

For our second day, I am highlighting...... a pioneer in Underwater Archaeology, Honor Frost! ⚒

Transcript: "Honor Frost,

Pioneered the field of Underwater Archaeology. She recognized the stark difference between land and underwater excavation efforts and ensured the field practiced meticulous detailed records. However, she did not have a degree and was an orphan from Cyprus, and then became a ward of a London art solicitor, Wildfred Evill, which led her to an adventurous life in underwater archaeology. Her self-advocacy for her education was remarkable and with the guidance of archaeologist Frederic Dumas, she became known as an expert in the field." ⚒
